One Illinois golf course reopens under new name this weekend

When my family first started considering moving out of our home in Rockford a few years ago, Westlake Village in Winnebago, Illinois was one of the neighborhoods we were very interested in. Not only is it a great community, but Westlake Village residents also have access to a small lake, pool, beach, and even a golf course…until the grounds close in 2018.

My husband and I are not golfers, but I would be lying if I said the golf course closure hasn’t tarnished Westlake Village’s luster for potential buyers. Well, now is the time to return as the Westlake Village Golf Course has been revamped and will reopen to the public this weekend! (August 6 and 7)

Say hello to the new Lynx Golf Course in Westlake Village

The old Westlake Village golf course has not only received a new look, but also a brand new name! Lynx Golf Course at Westlake Village is still an 18-hole course spanning over 131 acres, but the greens have been rebuilt, the bunkers have been “refurbished” and the clubhouse has had a facelift with a bar, kitchen and games.

Lynx Golf Course at Westlake Village Grand Opening

Now that Lynx Golf Course is ready to reopen to the public, they are hosting a grand opening celebration this weekend that includes a golf tournament, discounted green fees, food trucks, and more!

The Lynx Golf Course website states that the Clubhouse Bar and Kitchen will be running weekly specials and that their main goals are to provide the most affordable and best golfing experience the Rockford area has to offer! Learn more or book your next tee time now at lynxgolfatwestlake.com.
