One of the largest and fastest growing corporate entities in the Caribbean, leading Jamaican international distributor GraceKennedy Limited, is sponsoring a five-week professional summer internship as part of its Jamaican Birthright Summer Internship Program 2023.

The summer internship will be offered to Jamaican students and students of Jamaican origin, whether they are parents or grandparents living in Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Applicants must be pursuing either an undergraduate degree or a graduate program. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (B average). Other requirements also include that students must be between the ages of 18 and 25 and able to prove their Jamaican heritage.

The program offers assignments specific to students’ academic interests and career goals. Students will be exposed to cultural, social and educational immersion through the weekend program and activities aimed at showcasing Jamaica’s heritage and historical sites.

Students will have the opportunity to interact with applicants from other cultures and backgrounds and participate in a mentorship program by the GraceKennedy leadership team for the duration of the program. The internship program runs in Jamaica from June 22 to August 7, 2023. GraceKennedy will provide airfare, housing, transportation, and a stipend to program applicants.

All applicants must complete an online application between September 1 and November 30, 2022. Applicants must also submit an official transcript, one-page typed essay, and a passport-size photo.
